This retreat will be led by Dick Dunphy, S.J. and Alison King, MS, MAC and co-sponsored by the Providence Breakthrough Program. Based on the 12 Steps, there will be a special emphasis on the way in which they present us with a spiritual solution to addiction. The weekend will have conferences, quiet time for reflection and rest, sharing, and the opportunity to participate in 12 Step meetings. Friday 6:00pm check-in for overnight guests and first gathering is at 7:00pm.

Scripture And Leadership Training meets weekly and presents participants with a holistic course of study integrating Scripture, spirituality, and leadership training through large group presentation and small group sharing of personal reading and reflection.
Paraticipants are able to more clearly understand the context of the biblical writings, so as to better connect them to their lives and share their faith and insights with others.

This weekend, which is offered for all adults, concentrates on the Paschal mystery: the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus. Koinonia (a Greek term meaning community) emphasizes that the Church is a community of baptized believers who know they are set apart to proclaim the Gospel and to serve all people in a healing way. This concept of Church is communicated to the group not only through talks, discussions and activities, but also through the team and participants being Church. Annointing of the Sick and the Rite of Christian Burial. Prayer for those who are seriously ill and the Rite of Christian Burial are two events in which families, friends and faith communities can be involved in way that comfort and help bring meaning to these difficult events. This session will explore the teaching of the Catholic tradition and open up the role of those around the person who is ill or deceased. Fee: $25 for individual session.

Learning How to Be: Teachings on the Eight Beatitudes with Meditation in the Christian Tradition
This retreat will be led by Bernie Owens, S.J. Fr. Bernie has a doctorate in Christian Spirituality and taught for 13 years at the University of Detroit. Since 1994, he has been the director of the Internship in Ignatian Spirituality out of Manresa Jesuit Retreat House in Bloomfield, MI.
During this extended weekend beginning Thursday evening, Fr. Bernie will lead participants through the 8 beatitudes as guides for how we are to be as Christians. Interspersed will be optional group meditation sessions, daily Mass and time for rest and exercise.
